sure, i will try my best to answer your questions regarding SAP.
TK - You have my contact details .Please feel free to call me in case you would like to know about different SAP modules etc.
Before switching to SAP func areas one should consider about his /her previous experince.Process/Industry specific experience is very important to choose the right func module.Nowadays interviewing process is really tough.Just training and inhouse/dummy project experience won't be enough to get into SAP job.I actually saw some smart guys who rather got into SAP func roles in multiple steps:
1- Enrolled into basis SAP module training via informal training(classroom, online,CBT etc).SAP formal training is very expensive.
2-Practice via temporary access to SAP server(you pay like $50 per month, basis admin ensure config is good for you to play around).Concentrate more on transactional level rather tha config.
3- Apply for SAP super user level jobs. This will get you into SAP permanenet job with less competition
4- Work as a super user and gain more project experience(1-2 years)
5- Look for internal job posting and move to the SAP func analyst role within the organization.Or look for FA role outside with greater confidence.
This process could take 2-4 years(depend on your learning curve). In my last couple of year work experience I saw atleast 10-12 BAs moved to FA role and most of them are doing very good.
In case anyone is ready upto step #2 and need help on interview prep etc can mail me aroy(underscore)SAP(at) yahoo(dot)com
btw : In my current organization we are looking for good func guys(minimum 3 project implementation exp).Anyone looking for a change can email me your resume.

Not into SAP. What is COPA? Is it true BW module intersects a lot with FICO and HR modules?
