Last month I switched over from fido to wind to cut my cell phone expeses. I got $25 plan they said there is no data plan in it. My son play with my cell phone somehow it was connecting to internet and they send me $300 bill without any single notification . They charged me per bite i used.
After long fight they just give $100 credit but still taken $200. Please make remove data from $25 plan or make it prepaid.
They are bloody cheater their receiption is not very good. call disconeccted manhy time in building. I am very disapointed with

I have had similar problems with my Bell cell phone, although not as big an amount.
There are several ways Internet connection (data download) can get triggered - directly through the browser, downloading wall papers, games, ring tones, etc.
In most cases the charges were between $20 - $40.
I called every time and sometimes they refunded and sometimes not.
The only real protection against this type of nonsense is to either to lock your phone all the time, or get a cell phone that has no data capability, just plain voice features.

You can call WIND and ask them to disable data. That's what I did and use data only thru wifi
Why would you accuse WIND of being a cheater, you used their service and they charged you for it. Is there something wrong with that?
Pratick mentioned about his experience with Bell, I had a similar experience with Rogers, so WIND is no exception

TK brother. There are ways to get services you are looking for at a reasonable prices.
I subscribe to Wind unlimited calling and internet for $29 per month on my cell phone and no strings attached. This is working fine for me without getting into a contract.

TK, What world do you live in
Rogers (i.e. Chatr) offers a plan for $25 / month unlimited in/out voice - no strings attached, no contract. Now if you claim Rogers is sub-standard quality, I have nothing to say.So does not always mean low rates is low quality
As regards unintentional charges, they are charges for what services the op used. How can you claim they are unintentional.

I am a Wind user since July 2010 and I have no complaints. Its great for personal use. I don't have a landline any more since I switched to Wind from Rogers. I recently moved from their always shout plan to a 40$/month Unlimited Voice + Data + US calling + Voice Mail plan this Christmas
