Hi,
I hold Canadian Permanent Resident Card. I got my US Green Card through Consular Processing (after H1-B) in July 2008 and I moved to Metro Detroit Area from Windsor.
I stayed in Windsor, Canada more than 3 years before moving to Michigan. I also applied to Canadian Citizenship before moving to Michigan. Now, I have registered my vehicle in Michigan.
I have to go to Canada for my Citizenship Test and may be for tourism purposes.
My question is what identification I should show at the Canadian Border, Canadian PR Card or US Green Card. Please suggest.
Thanks,
Anurag
--- You should enter using your Cdn PR card. If you enter as a US PR, then you are entering as a visitor to Canada - and your citizenship application could be in jeopardy. You should ALWAYS retain your cdn PR before becoming a citizen.

But, if I show my Canadian PR then how do I justify to Border Officer about my Michigan License Plate on the car and about the US Green Card, if I am asked.
The officer may ask to surrender Canadian PR Card, because I have received US Green Card.
Thanks,
Anurag

Best option would be to enter Canada using your GC. There is a very high probability you will not see any further questioning or tracking besides asking you how long you intend to stay in Canada.
