I am looking for good quality youth bedroom furniture. I want solid wood furniture that is strong, looks good and doesn't cost the earth. Any suggestions as to where I can find such furniture in the GTA will be helpful.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I would advise you to go through kijiji used fruniture advt and try to get it, you will get in less than half price. Put furniture wanted advt which is free in kijiji. People will respond to your needs. If you are not interested in second hand furnitures then IKEA/Leon both are good.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond!
Fido, you are right when you say this topic has been debated to great lenghts! I would like to know if you are satisfied with the furniture you finally bought from the Chinese Store at Dundas. I really want solid wood and personally have never been very fond of Ikea (design and quality). Sofa 999 has good designs but I find the quality a bit flimsy. I would ideally love to buy from the "A kids corner" or Costco but it does become expensive and I was looking around to see if the same quality could possibly be available at more reasonable rates. We have bought enough flimsy furniture just because it was cheap and lived to regret it in the past.
Thanks,

Unfortunately that store Green Furnture appears closed now ... or may be they ve shifted else where .. they were earlier located close to DQ ...
But you can browse the furniture by the name of 'Kinwai' ... They have offices in the US and yes , I am quite satisfied with the bed since its platform style - solid hard wood (not soft pine) and well built .... Topped with a hard board sheet on the slats & a $300/- cotton futon mattress , gives me the most wonderful sleep.
Yes solid hard wood furniture is the way to go ... though its slightly expensive ... I would choose pine wood next and then veneer / pressed wood etc ....
Look around ... Leons / Brick / Ashley / Arrow / Bad Boy are the branded ones ...... for the un branded reach Dixie / Dundas and go 2-3 kms either side on Dundas to check out other furniture stores ..... Check out the Sears Outlet stores as well on weekends .... they have 40 - 50 % off ..
To a new immigrant I would advise to buy used furniture from Kijiji / Craigslist / Salvation Army initially and then keep on looking for deals on the above mentioned stores ........ As soon as you get a deal on something you want recycle the old product away .... This way you can save money and get what you want and do not have to hurry ..

Thank you very much! You have been most helpful.
