Well, even I have the urge 2 return every time I feel lonely , although Mid East is a lot better socially and closer 2 home but then \"there s no place like home\" . The place u identify urself with , the culture and the ppl u ve been thruout ur life . The joy, verve & the air to name a few.
But the moment I step out of the IGI Airport and take on 2 the roads of Delhi I change my mind and all the reasons y I left the country stare me back n the face & now all the more heightened . People are ready 2 step on u 4 want of space and no1 cares a hoot 4 the law and order and dignity of life . U have 2 be big and powerful 2 survive , a decent citizen wud get a raw deal --- which is a pathetic truth .
So guys , think twice , weigh the pros and conses and make a long lasting decision . Of course \"only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches \"

PS : These are just personal views and by no means any offence 2 any1.
I think if you don't live under illusions and make a conscious decision to move back to India based on a thought-process rather than nostalgia, chances are you'll do quite well. The market is great there right now if you're in the right field and the skills and experience of a returning NRI are valued there.
I feel the the issue with moving back on a purely emotional level is that you get disillusioned with the difficulties you face re-adjusting in the first few months. And then creeps in disappointment that changes to disdain before you know it.
I'm still waiting to hear someone's actual experiences regarding moving back. And for the record, although I'm not planning to move back, I am considering about going back and working in India for a couple of years, reason being I've never worked in India.

Regarding a comment by someone that a person having cdn 70000 has saved has lot, believe me if u r married with 2 kids, u really cant save much even with 70000 job as ur tax bracket is higher, u pay mortgage and spend more to have a better living standard

Coming back to the original topic...how does one try for a job in India from here! I am sad of the gray and cold here...and want to go back to my sunshine country...I want to walk on the street in that bustling crowd...I want to stand at the corner paan shop and chew a paan and gossip with friends...I want to drive my bajaj with my finger on the horn and the pitch of the horn following the throttle of the engine...I want to go to those shops and be served upon by eager saleman...I want to be recognized and want to recognize of my neighbours by name and want to aware of what they do and how they are...I want to walk in my kurta pyjamas with on a warm evening....I want to eat at the roadside poochka wala..the chat and the tikki...I want to walk with my arms over my friend's shoulder without being branded as gay...
Hey...let's add some intersting ones to this "I want to list..." for us sad desis missing home here...and see how long it grows to.
