HI friends,

It is difficult to get reply from canadian employer when you are out side canda....

It looks canadian employers had a very diffrent attitude that only a canadian experience will be the ultimate skill set they need.

After sending so many resumes for diffrent jobs posted on net , i never recived a reply from single employer from Canda. HOpe you will understand the attitude once you go through this process.

Quite often people sitting in Canada also do not recieve reply from employers. Try to post your resume to advertisment listed by company and not placement agencies. Agencies are normaly building up their data base.

I've been trying for a few months from New Jersey, but haven't had much luck getting responses so far. A few have responded asking me to get in touch with them after I land in Canada. I'm also in Software, and on H1B. I visited Toronto for a week last year and completed the landing formalities.

Found Toronto too crowded, and now leaning towards Calgary. Still haven't finalized, though.

In my opinion, the best thing would be to try and get some contacts before landing.

It looks the whole preocess for hiring a person for ajob in canada is totaly diffrent to other parts of world, becuase they need Canadian exp, canadian education, canadian style resume, and what more...

tomuch all of this...after all we enter canada legally, why agin they ask all these things. Immigration ministry should look in to this matters.

It's supply and demand issue. If there are couple of openings and number of candidates within Canada are vying for it, then what are the chances for someone sitting in ME or USA? Think abt it.

Gone are those days when IT was in demand, anyone from anywhere could get a a good response from employers. There are thousands of unemployed IT workers in Canada due to layoffs from Nortel and other firms. So just because someone is in ME or USA, that does not mean that they are special and Canadian employers are ready to court them. I may sound different, but that's the truth.
