Police identified the dead militant as Uzafa Shah, a Pakistani national who had been operating in the Rajouri-Poonch area for the last four years. He was said to be the only Lashkar commander in the area who had survived.
Rajouri SSP Shafqat Watali said police found a blood trail, suggesting that one of the militants who fled was wounded. One even left behind his weapon. When Noor Hussain did not open the door, the militants broke open a window and entered the house. By then, Noor Hussain and his wife Rashida Begum had hidden daughter Rukhsana Kausar beneath a cot. On not finding Rukhsana, the militants started beating Rashida. Son Aijaz Ahmed tried to pick up a lathi but one of the militants hit him.

हम लोगों ने इस इलाक़े में बहुत दिनों से किसी दहशतगर्द को नहीं देखा था... वे इस इलाक़े में लगभग 11 साल बाद आए थे.

मुझसे अपने माँ-बाप की हालत देखी नहीं गई इसलिए मैंने सोचा कि मरने से पहले मुझे बहादुरी के साथ उनका मुक़ाबला करना चाहिए. मेरे माँ-बाप बुरी तरह चीख़ रहे थे और वे लोग उनका मुंह बंद करने के लिए कोई कपड़ा तलाश कर रहे थे.

मैं चारपाई के नीचे से निकल कर बाहर आ गई.

तभी एक दहशतगर्द के बाल मेरे हाथों में आ गए और मैंने ज़ोर से पकड़ कर उसे दीवार से टक्कर दे दी जिससे वह गिर पड़ा और फिर मैंने कुल्हाड़ी से उसपर वार कर दिया जो उसकी गर्दन पर लगा.

जान को ख़तरा
एक दूसरे दहशतगर्द पर कुल्हाड़ी चलाई जो उसके चेहरे पर लगी. किसी तरह मैंने एक आदमी की राइफ़ल छीन ली और बिना रुके गोली चलाती रही. बाद में देखा गया कि उस दहशतगर्द कमांडर के जिस्म पर 12 गोलियाँ लगी थीं.

हमने टीवी पर फ़िल्मों में हीरो को बंदूक़ चलाते देखा था और मैं उसी तरह गोली चलाती रही. किसी तरह मुझ में हिम्मत आ गई थी. मैं उस वक़्त तक गोली चलाती रही जबतक कि मैं थक के चूर नहीं हो गई.
रुख़साना
उसी बीच एक दहशतगर्द ने गोली चलाई जो मेरे चाचा के बाज़ू को ज़ख्मी करती हुई निकल गई. उसी दौरान मेरे भाई ने भी एक आतंकवादी की राइफ़ल छीन ली और उसने भी गोली चलानी शुरू कर दी थी.

उनसे हमारी लड़ाई काफ़ी देर चलती रही. इससे पहले मैंने कभी राइफ़ल को हाथ भी नहीं लगाया था उसे चलाना तो दूर की बात थी.

लेकिन हमने टीवी पर फ़िल्मों में हीरो को बंदूक़ चलाते देखा था और मैं उसी तरह गोली चलाती रही. किसी तरह मुझ में हिम्मत आ गई थी. मैं उस वक़्त तक गोली चलाती रही जब तक कि मैं थक के चूर नहीं हो गई.

उन्होंने मेरी माँ से उनका नाम पूछा था और यह पूछा था कि वह कहाँ की रहने वाली हैं.


यह चरमपंथी रूखसाना की गोली का शिकार बना.
इस लड़ाई में दो और दहशतगर्द ज़ख़्मी हुए, उनके चहरे पर कुल्हाड़ी के वार के साथ मुझे लगता है कि गोली भी लगी थी. मेरे हिसाब से उसका ज़िंदा बचना मुश्किल है.

ऐसा लगता है कि अल्लाह ने मुझे इस मुसीबत की घड़ी में इतनी हिम्मत दी कि मैं उन दहशतगर्दों का मुक़ाबला कर पाई. लेकिन मुझे डर है कि वे लोग इस घटना के बाद मुझे नहीं छोड़ेंगे. ये उनके लिए बड़ी शर्म की बात है कि उनका एक कमांडर इस लड़ाई में मारा गया.

हालांकि पुलिस ने मेरे घर के पास एक पिकेट बना दिया है और उन्होंने पूरी सुरक्षा का यक़ीन भी दिलाया है लेकिन अब हमारा इस गांव में रहना मुश्किल है. उन्हें चाहिए कि हमें राजौरी के शहर या किसी दूसरी महफ़ूज़ जगह भेज दें
