Due to the extensive hype created for this movie, I went ahead and saw this movie last night. Boy, what a disappointment. This movie isn’t even remotely scary and a big let down to all horror fans. Even children and teenagers were giggling to the scenes considered to be terrifying and I think the whole hype is a marketing gimmick. I was expecting something big to happen all along the movie and except for the last scene, most other scenes are predictable.

The main reason I don’t consider this as a scary movie is because it's a drag for most of the time. Micah does his role with ease and his acting is ok where as Katie ruins everything with her over acting. The director should have paid a little more attention to Katie’s wardrobe because her low-neck shirt makes her look sexy rather than being perceived as someone processed by a demon. All I could think of during the scenes in which the lights go on and off is the person behind the camera doing such silly stuff.

When the psychic visits their home for the second time and says that he had to leave immediately because the demon doesn’t like his presence there, the theater bursts into laughter and there goes to dust the director’s intention of portraying the demon’s power.

The last scene was indeed scary and no one would have expected such an ending. But the movie trailers that are widely available across the internet had already played spoilsport in revealing it to the audience and the suspense is gone.

The only consoling thing in this movie is that it hasn’t got any gore or crazy makeup’s. Watch it on DVD if you want to. I would rate this movie 2 stars out of 5.

I wish you had posted this yesterday.My wife took me forcibly to this one and I knew there was something fishy about the IMDB rating for this movie. I usually belive IMDB all the time.

Hope the "The Fourth Kind" lives up up to it's reputation in 2 weeks.I am looking forward to it.

"Paranormal Activity 2" is lined up for release on Oct 22 and the scary teaser is already creating a buzz in the US. As per Wikipedia, the teaser was pulled out from several theaters in Texas after receiving complaints that it is too frightening.
