But this is just in the beginning but then I noticed we have to fight hard every day until we retire. I realized how stress-full this can be. You cannot make much progress on spiritual level, social level, etc, since to keep your job going (plus family responsibilities, etc) leaves no time for any other aspects of life.

The money seemed good in the beginning because of our instincts of converting everything to rupee terms. But, the money now seems good enough only to pay all regular bills.

The positive thing, of course, is the Canadian medical system which is still lot more reliable than Indian. In India, you have to know good doctors. Here too, bad doctors are there but even they meet certain minimum standards.

Overall, Canada is not all that great, but I have to live somewhere. Going back to India has its own problems. So, live with the evil you know, than the one you don't know enough.

That is the discussion I like.

I think u better learn how to do translation of the phrases. Don't take the sentences as it is. Put some effort on ur brain to check in which context I am talking about. I don't think u r a child which read word by word.

Did I tell you that or did you check my tax returns (which by the way has more tax payable than would be on the money I earn in Canada!!! - I hope you get what I mean)?

It is not difficult to guess where u might be standing. If u can't guess then don't underestimate others.

Never heard of something like making a contribution to a country by helping in outflow of money from that country. So you make a contribution to your motherland by outflow of money from your motherland - that's funny. Can you please enlighten me on the economic principle you use to make that statement? (by the way - a related question - where is your mother? In your motherland or your land?)

Well u misunderstood (pretend to misunderstand as I told u that u r the kind of person who always think...). It was outflow of money from Can. This proves u still need to know basic eco. On this forum if I ask a question "How NRI's make contribution to their motherland financially" then I believe everbody (Except u) can answer this.

Behave yourself. So better be in the limits.

Can you please elaborate on the 'typical mentality'? I am a typical man, nothing special, so I guess I would have a typical mentality - but would like to know what you mean by this word. I am sure it must be different than a moronic mentality.

If u r born here then u will not understand this. Again u try to pretend that u don't understand this.

Oh, is this a quote? I did not know that. Who said these words? I was all my life under the impression that it is a saying but am pleased to find it is a quote.

If don't then remember it in future.

Why should I accept it silently........I think if you find good in something, someone, somewhere, you should always let the others know it.

The same way u accept the problems silently. Either accept both good/bad silently or speak out both.

Though frankly, reading your posts make me feel that this might actually happen! - meaning that you could increase the problems 30 fold or so)

OK man, let me phrase it "35 times worse', I will write a computer program
which can exactly calculate the ratio. Will that satisfy u? If u don't have mathematics knowledge then better learn it (Not all scales are linear)

Very mature points. I agree every point of it. It actually sums up much of the reality of Canada (esp. in a desi way). Well done, Blue_Peafowl.
This is very applicable in reality to all those professionals who are not in IT or Finance and earn around $ 50K or less as a family.

Peace by a PD

TK ... Don't you think that how much a family makes or can make totally depend upon themselves .
I can introduce you to few ppl who were working in factories as general labour but still have two houses now mortgage free . It didnt happened overnight . They worked very hard for it . And unlike you and me they didnt even had an option of upgrading themselve . IN CANADA only , if a person works really hard , he can still make his way up . We all know what a labour class person affords in our motherland .
So think and act upon what has stopped you in past years to reach certain heights ???
Good luck
