Agree.

Wouldn't it help immensely if one lives in a place where he/she can actually be happy? Regardless of zillion opinions about I vs C, which no one will "win", how about evaluating what would make someone happy and content?

There are numerous good career opportunities available in India that one can live a good life if he/she feels that is the right place. I don't see a point being continually unhappy and mad.

Well if we have only sweet in life it would be so boring.... hence we need khatta and meetha together, like yin and yang and so on....

Lets happily exchange view points and support each other life is grey never black or white...

Interesting view points expressed in this thread, so far

cheers

Nobody cares, but if university graduate who studied computer science for 4 years cannot answer this basic question then it matters a lot because the interviewer know the importance of this question.

Good interviewer always test the candidate from different angle.

This type of knowledge is required even in basic programming (Perhaps u havn't done it) like running a loop where u have used byte data type but the upper limit is used > 255. Of course this is not a system programming.

For the most part many of us still depend on mainstream society (if you want to call them "whites";), to make a living. We are quite unlike other communities like the Chinese or Korean, where you can survive without good English language skills because you integrate into these societies itself and make a living.

Web 2000 seems to have a particular problem - he is one angry person who believes that everything Canadian (read "white";) is evil. He rants incessantly - but yes he displays a "sense of humor" when he says
" BTW, if knowing English was enough then the born Canadian will be the boss everywhere". It's funny and doesn't make sense. Perhaps he needs to go to Japan, Korea, and Germany where the majority use one language to communicate - be it German, Japanese or Korean.

This is nothing of happiness/unhappiness. I like when people can express his views and can freely raise his voice if there is anything wrong in the system.

That does not mean that u have to leave the country. I put all those people who cannot speak out (That does not cost anything) in one category which u better know. It is just because of ur this kind of attitude, nobody attempts to make the people unite.

I think TK well said that he was hurt by most of his own community people.

Hard not to. Indians are not better than anyone else. Its sad that people need to think they are better/smarter etc.

Whats wrong with being just as good as everyone else?

Well, it is not difficult to prove. I see the above equation true everyday.

Web 2000.......... for a moment, let us forget this argument about happiness and sorrow. As a member of your community, what have you given back to society - be it time, effort or leadership? Have you tried to volunteer at the local food bank or the hospital? Have you done any community service?

Before you jump your guns, I have - and I continue to do my bit to society.

Even so, I would rather focus more on what else I can do than expect everything to fall on my lap

As far as going back to India is concerned, well you really don't have to - but think of what this society has done for you...... This imperfect, discriminatory, racist society has turned a happy positive person into a cynical, unhappy and sore person.

It is not arrogance, when people say that unhappy people should go back - It takes many generations to transform society into what might be the "ideal"one for you...... I am not sure, it is worth waiting that long!

Don't you think web2000 that if that were really true, there would have never been a need for you to migrate to Canada - since India would have been a much better place than Canada with better people having more common sense (which, by the way, I sincerely believe is not a common thing really)?

There must have been more reasons of good in Canada than in India that made you come here - of even if you did make a grave mistake, there would be more reasons for making you want to stay here than go back. What response would you have for that considering that you have more common sense than an average Canadian.

Americans = Canadians?

Just wondering since the explanation of 10= 35 is that indian of 10 is the equal of an American of 35.
