dont you think this is too much...too ppl do same if you go in QC...?

Another example of politics of division. Nothing new or strange for India. I remember that moron V.P.Singh told Outlook during the interview that if he can help, he will make it compulsory for higher caste girl to marry a lower cast boy! He is revered still by some people as Messiah of Dalit! Politicians in India have been known to pander all kind of baser instinct to gain political mileage.

IF MNS had real intention or guts, they should force those MNC CEOs and their pretty secretaries working in Nariman Point buildings to learn Marathi. However, MNS's divisive politics instilled great deal of fear and North Indians voted for Congress in big way wiping off BJP-Shivsena from Mumbai. If you are following Indian politics closely, you would have appropriated blame to Congress as MNS is their creation and scrumptiously supported by Congress financially. Shameful it may be, but divisive politics has always paid dividend politically. Congress is the finest example where it rules the country with less than 30% votes.

As regards Quebec, well they get so much favorable treatment; they need not resort to such an action. Further, unlike Indian judiciary which is servile to politicians, Canadian judiciary will not tolerate such non sense.

Don't entirely disagree with you. However there is also a flip side to the argument. When you move to a new place, you are obliged to learn the local lingo. Some states in India, like TN, use only Tamil in offices and public services.

Do you think Canadians will tolerate if you insist on speaking in hindi and not english? See how Canada changes immigration laws once that happens.

Btw, Quebec has some of the most ridiculous language laws. Shop signs, advertisemtns on trucks, vans etc have to have to be predominantly in French, failing which you could be fined.

Most eastern Canadians while dissing the French understand the importance of French language when it comes to Canadian identity. Without French influence Canada will have to choose between being a star ot a stripe on US flag.

Hi Fudd,

I absolutely agree with you that once you move to a different place, one should learn local language. However, what these MSN morons do not know or do not want to acknowledge is the fact that these Taxi drivers in Bombay from North are probably not well educated. Chances are that many of them are school drop outs and that is the reason they are driving taxi cabs.In any case, it is difficult for an adult to learn a new language. I have come across so many immigrants from different parts of the world including Indians who are not proficient in English after spending 10 years in Canada. It will be interesting if Raj Thackrey, the goon of Bombay can prove his point by learning some other language for example Tamil. I believe that Bombay has already become multi cultural and one can live and work in Bombay without learning Marathi. If he is so concerned about Marathi speaking people, he should run free classes for Marathi people to learn English. That will certainly raise the prospects of ordinary Marathi guys of getting a good job.

Though on a sidenote, I would certainly like to mention that original grouse of Raj that North Indians get all the jobs in Railways was absolutely correct. That was result of the Railway Ministry being under control of the two most corrupt politicians of Bihar for a long time - Lalu and Paswan.

Create a controversy to get attention. MNS and the guys who distributed this knows all the facts about taxi walas. But taking it on main street will definitely get the attention that they need. And it worked. MNS did get the seats in Mumbai.
Of course taxi controversy was actually started by congress government. They silently backed out to get both, benefit to ccongress and blame to MNS.

Now tactics of MNS to force this to Nariman point, you can go thru following link.
