What a strange situation. We have migrated to Canada for brighter prospects and willing to work hard, but no employment. Back home in India, petty jobs are plenty, but it is very difficult to get a person. It is nightmare to find an electrician, plumber or any handyman in India to fix a problem. U will find an auto on the Road, but that guy is not willing to provide a service unless u pay him double the price on the meter. In Canada Taxi drivers are looking for a customers, but customers are not in a position to hire a taxi due to tight budget.

So the purpose of migrating to Canada is big confusion to most of the guys.

Brighter prospects means different things to different people
It is useless to compare between India and Canada
Each place has its own problems .. own brighter things.
Majority want best of both.
Todays world, tons of information is at your door step ... and you can always have a chance to decide where to live depending upon your complete background and what is most important for you.
There is no confusion. Do your research well. Use CD as one of many sources.
Make a decision. Always have a Plan-B.

Hi Gurram,

I don't want to make it as another quarrel on India Vs Canada and u no need to be so defensive , if some one mentioned few facts about job opportunities in Canada. I was talking in general and not about my case.

TK,

There is another very important cash job you can do in Canada, and we should tell all immigrants about it.

Its extensively advertised in FREE newspapers like Metro , 24 hrs etc.

Guess what it is ? Clinical Medical Drugs Trial :)

CRO & generic drug manufacturing Companies like Apotex, BioVail etc test their generic drugs on you and take blood samples from you in return.

Basically they give you a pill & you are a human guinea pig in there..they also give you FREE food & accommodation, while you are there. Then you get compensated for your TIME and BLOOD ..literally every 20 mins or so they take blood samples from you :)

The pay is decent lot of desis & students are doing that..so in addition to Welfare, Food banks , Gurudwara free Langar aka food , this is a good source of income.

All the side effects & complications from the new dugs they test on you are yours to keep..no one will take them back from you.

The best thing is NO Canadian experience or education is required for these drug trials, as the blood samples they take from everyone are the same colour ..RED !..Canadian or otherwise.

Je Suis Clinical Drug Trials !

Adam:
Got your point.
I was infact looking to do these clinical trials.
They pay $ 800 for the trails.
I in fact registered for one (easy one) but they told me that It was fully booked.
I would guess that we should leave this one for the blacks (perfectly legitimate word). They are more in need and since most Indian's come from rich families, they are shit scared of these clinical trials (as I am also).

Je Suis Scared !

To add to Gurram's post ,
You may read about countries, get fascinated or disillusioned and decide but most important is to read about yourself, know your own capabilities, mentality, strengths and weakness Plus what qualifications and skills you have honed till now. Plan accordingly.
