Can anyone tell me how much time it takes to receive the PR card after landing in Canada? If it takes few weeks then what are the options if a person wants to travel out of Canada few days after landing, as he might need PR card to return back.

To leave Canada you do not need the PR Card. You only need it when you return back. It will be delivered to the address that you provide them with, in 30 days or there about. Who ever receives it can do the needful for you and you can get it at your new location and you carry it on you if and when you return.

If you do not have it when you leave, because you left Canada before it arrived at your address, you will have to obtain a Travel Document at a cost of FIFTY Dollars and with a wait time of about two weeks to receive the Travel Document..
