Hello,
We are permanent residents of Canada with INdian passport. All in the family, except my 3 year old son have PR card (he came here on temporary residence permit, and did his permanent landing only 10 days back).
Due to family emergency, we have to travel to US (provided we get US visit visa). The issue is what will be the procedure for my son to enter back Canada without PR card.
I know I will have to go to Canadian Embassy in US, and do some process. Anyone has ideas how long it takes to get the papers processed at Canadian Embassy/ Consular in US.

--- OR you can travel by road (in your own car) if you want to avoid the hassles of visiting the cdn mission in the USA. That way, your child will be able to re-enter using his entry permit that he used for the landing purpose.
Canadian PRs can enter Canada by road using passport & landing documents in a private vehicle. PR card is not mandatory. The officer at the post may ask you about your PR card for which you can say you havent received it yet.

Thanks for the replies.
Meanwhile I had also called CIC, and got the same information. hence, I will travel by road to BUffalo, and then take a flight.
