The same machine is available at Future Shop, but do not know if the Microsoft Operating System is pre-loaded or not.
Here are all of the technical details except the batteries. : http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/hewlett-packard-hp-15-6-amd-phenom-ii-triple-core-p820-laptop-g62-264ca-future-shop-exclusive-g62-264ca/10145480.aspx?path=c43b369055cde5e44943bfb36059d090en02

EDIT: Yes it is pre loaded.
hi all,
i m also looking to buy DELL INSPIRON 15 R.
i m confused whether to buy it from india or canda.
in india Inspiron(i3 processor,3gb ram,320gb hdd,bag,1 year harware international warranty) is for $820(INR 37,000)
and dell.ca(i3 processor,4gbram,320gb hdd etc) is showing $599.
what will be the tax on $599.is bag & warranty also included in $599.
is it advisable to get it from india?so that i can have all the softwares loaded , in canada it is hard to get pirated softwares like we can get in Nehru place.
please advice as i have to decide in 1-2 days.
If I were you , I would buy it here and get the s/w loaded in India on a next visit ... reason being slightly debatable -- the quality of the laptop you would get here , comparing one to one would be superior ... and the price cheaper .... I ve met a lot of IT guys from India buying laptops from here and taking back home for the aforesaid reasons .
Getting s/w loaded in India is more or less a constant ... Either you pay to get the job done , or buy it and do it your self .

SUCCESS IS NOT A DESTINATION, BUT A JOURNEY...............
Sorry for the digression, but I do not want to create a new topic on a similar line.
From the processing/RAM viewpoint, is there a difference between a laptop and a netbook? For office/e-mail/internet applications, is there a noted difference in the speed? Is it convenient to read on a netbook?
Since netbook do not have an optical drive, I can always buy an external writer.

Yes , usually netbook has limitation of 1GB ram only where as laptop can go higher then 3 gb ram depending upon 32 bit or 64bit OS
For office/e-mail/internet applications, is there a noted difference in the speed?
usually if you stick to internet and office applications only and if you do not go crazy and start installing lots of other third party software then speed will be slow but still it will be OK keeping in view netbook's CPU and RAM limitation.
Is it convenient to read on a netbook?
for this just visit any futureshop or bestbuy then try your hands on those demo laptops and netbooks and see where your comfort zone is.
