I would like to have suggestions on the following from the forum members:
a) I understand there are few organisations who update the new immigrants about canadian way of life, writing CV, appearing for interviews etc. We are looking for evening classes for 4-5 days. We are staying near the Gerrard Street East, where the Indian Bazar is. would appreciate if you could help us with organisation contacts near our residence.
b) If I would like to start a business, where from I can get information about how to go about it.
You might want to check an organization called "Skills for Change". They have some good informative sessions and programs. Below is there link. Good Luck...

Here is a link to Access Train.

I will provide you an additional link to the locations that they operate from:
http://accestrain.com/default.asp?pageID=244 In this link there are interactive maps, and you can find how close they are to your location. (I am afraid you both will have to take a bus or a street car to College street or the Don Mills center.)
Here is a Staff Directory that you can contact to get the information. : http://accestrain.com/default.asp?pageID=236
Freddie.
Thanks to both of you for the feedback. Once I have gone through the information, would update you.
Landing and then starting a business is a bad idea..
Why not take up a job , understand the country , local economy, market and then try to go about starting ur own business..

Probably you are right. However, for last few days I have been trying to understand and gain access to the job market here, but the results have not really been encouraging. I may be forming an opinion fast and too early, but, canadian job market is relatively closed. We are taken in after years of wait and screening based on skill shortages in Canada and our existing skill sets, but, after landing, all our education and skills turn out to be a big ZERO.
On the other hand, this country I feel has lot of scope as far as business is concerned, thus, I thought, instead of struggling to make ends meet though low paying jobs, why not to fight and make the business a success.
I am looking at setting up a freight forwarding business here and would appreciate to have some feedback on the same.
if u want to start a business just to get away from a low paying job then u are starting a biz for the wrong reasons..
