No mention or footage about the opening ceremony in American Media. They only covered the one foot bridge that collapsed.
Never trust the USA media when forming an opinion about a country.

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
Infact the BBC did not have anything nice to say after the opening ceremony either, though they covered all the negative happenings during the run up to the games.
Some people will just criticize - no matter what you dish them...

But thats what separates India from China - no censorship and free speech - the reader/viewer knows what he is listening/reading/watching. It is better than spoon feeding, which makes us more mature...
to the opening ceremony.
Now lets count the medals...lest we forget the original purpose of this MELA.

Have you heard the speech of Mr Suresh Kalmadi during the Opening Ceremony of the CWG on 03 Oct 10 ~~~ if YES, how did he say "Former President Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad" while referring to our Former President "Dr. APJ Adbul Kalam"?
Kalmadi makes a mess again, he refers to Former President Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam, as Dr.Abdul Kalam Azad, what a disgrace....... he should be sacked.......

The less we talk about him the better. It seems he did not practise his speech before delivering and seemed to written by some 10th grader - mixing local politics with CWG opening ceremony. Infact, I dont recollect if he even acknowledged the Royal couple in his welcome address. I may have missed it, but have a feeling, he didnt.
In comparison, the president's speech was better.

Talking about speeches, did anyone notice Camilla trying to contain her laughter when the President said ' ditches of Cornwall' ?
