I know in canada, one should take oath before taking citizenship.

Same way, india should do before giving OIC or PIO. seriously, it should not be given based on just birth.

Pio /Oci is only for visa free travel , or depositing money in indian banks.

There s no voting right

dont know how much these guys pay for Pio /Oci , but indian govt is no fool , they extract a decent sum .

Rest buying property is ok if they want to ,and education is at an nri rate

at the airport you can spot the difference between an american Nri and a canadian Nri, the vocal spending guy from the silent observant and cost conscious
