Hello All

I have landed in Canada and have applied for the PR card. I have come back to India now and waiting for my PR card to be delivered to the local address in Canada that I have given. I want to sponser my elder brother to come to Canada. I need to know if I can sponser him for a dependent work visa where in he can come and live with me and also earn at the same time. Please let me know what are the formalities and process for the same. Can I initiate the process while I am India or I need to be in Canada to do the same. I have no record or income or have paid tax in Canada as I have not worked in Canada at all. Can you please let me know what should be my eligibilty to sponser a family member?

1. You need to be living in Canada.
2. You need to show proof of income in Canada that would cover sponsorship eligibility amount.
3. You need to make sure that you can sponsor your brother.

Not sure what a dependant work visa is ??

I am not an expert but what understand that if your borther is older then 18 years then he has to apply under point system and he can not be sponsered under family class.
