I would be very much grateful if experience people can answer my question. My current situation and question is as follows:
After getting canadian PR, We landed into Canada on Feb 2004 . We moved to US after we got our PR card and SIN Card. We had a new born in US. Since he was born here in US, he is a US Citizen. Now I am planning to get back to canada.
1) Does my son need to apply of any tourist visa? I heard US citizen do not need visa to enter canada for a short period of time.
2) Since I donot have any job in Canada right now, Can I sponser my son for PR? Do I wait until I can find some job (any) in Canada? But is there any financial/income ceiling? When there is no job, does any saving help?
3) Beside physically being in canada (and job?) are there any other requirement?
I tried to look into canada.gc.ca but the content doesnot clear spell out for my situation.
thanks
1. He won't need visa to enter but if you want to stay you will have to sponsor your child.
2. You don't need income to sponsor the child. You only need to reside in Canada to be eligible.
3. Not have collected welfare, not committed a crime, not beaten your wife.
