16000 CAD/per annum will be about 9000~9500 CAD in hand per month after tax..deduct for the stress of moving and adjusting to new hot and humid place and you have nothing in your hand.

indeed good points john 26. I guess it would make good financial sense to go if one is not doing well in Canada. Like no job or so so job etc. Interesting discussion this one.

Isn't it like you get 30 days to prepare to leave the country (being an Indian citizen), I think it would be much more relaxed for some one with American / Canadian / British passport.

I think it is the same for all. Much like the US, where it is 10 days I think. So the packing has to be even faster.

Not always. If Canada has a double taxation treaty with that country then you don't need to pay taxes at both the countries. Canada has one with India and many other countries. You could read the one with India here
