The best advice I can give you is to figure out your services and then learn to sell. Once you have determined your services, then you can look around for a finance advisor or accountant to get benefit in your business.

You want to determine your objectives first, but basically, you want an accountant who fulfills a certain criteria, based on your needs. Things like:

1) bookkeeping solutions
2) tax planning for business and individual owners
3) tax compliance
4) business advisory

You would want an accountant who performs all or a combination of the above tasks, and someone who has developed an expertise in those areas through a lot of experience. At the end of the day, you want to develop a long-term relationship with them, because switching can become costly and stressful.
