Dear all,
We decided to move to Vancouver although we did our landing formalities in Toronto(1.5 years back). I hope there will be NO problems.
I heard that there is a change in baggage allowance i.e., 2x23 is reduced to 1x23. Do anybody knows about it?
We are a family of 4, me and my wife, with 2 kids 5 and 3 years old. My 3 year old has started schooling here (Pre KG) and 5 year is going to Kindergarten. We will be landing in May 2011. How about the schools in Vancouver? Will we get admission in Full day kindergarten for my son? We want to keep our kids together in a single place. Please let us know the options available. We are now thinking where exactly we need to settle down initially - Burnaby/Vancouver/Surrey? As I don't have any job, we are open to any place where the rent is cheap, area is good, and kids have a good school.
We have our SIN numbers ready. I am ready to take up any job until I find a job in my profession. My wife is interested doing her PhD. Any suggestions please let us know.

Thanks Unitz. I hope I can join my 5 year old son to Kindergarten. He is completing his 5 yrs end of this month. Will that be a problem? Since in the most the sites I have seen that the age should be 5 end of December for the admission. I think the 3 years old can get an admission in any of the PreSchool, but still not sure about the process. Anybody with a 3 year kid please give me more information and possibilities.

Your five year old kid can go to kindergarten from September this year.
Yes, 3 year old can go to pre-school.

I read your description and i think at first you need to take decision for moving to Vancouver. then you can search neighborhood location for your related things. Then you can find a right apartment from biggest area craigslist.ca . Do you know it it largest area for searching apartment or room ? Ok then you can start your moving tour easily in Vancouver..
