As you see interested even in low salary(Gulf) offers, it looks like you are impressed with Gulf salaries and benefits.
If you want a job in the Gulf, then you may try to see the job postings at Oil companies in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
If, by the grace of God, you can get an employment in any of the Oil companies, it is like a dream come true. COmpensation would be very good and besides life will be much easier in the desert countries. No one expects you to work hard in these countries.
All the best in your search and possible relocation.
Peace

As you may have noticed in my earlier post, I am no longer interested as it does not reflect the path I want to take with my career. My life has been mighty good where I live and work and I would be very cautious before jumping into something that far away.

Sure. In 2009 I was actively seeking new opportunities and I opened up myself to the entire world. In this case, I heard 2 or so weeks back from the recruitment officer and I decided to explore via initial conversation. My first interview was via Skype which is where I learned the details and hence the query on CD and change of mind after researching few websites.

The position is a faculty position in the Dept of Industrial Engineering at American University of Middle East located in Kuwait. You may visit their website at http://www.aum.edu.kw." rel="nofollow">LINK I believe I had directly applied through their website. The University is affiliated with Purdue University (in Indiana). The interview process, as I was told, would entail the following:

1. Skype interview with the recruitment officer.
2. Skype interview with the recruitment manager.
3. They'll fly you for an onsite campus interview - 2 to 5 day process that includes several layers of interviews, subject matter presentation (to evaluate teaching capabilities) and I believe a tour of the facility.
4. Offer negotiations while you are there if accepted
5. Contract signing before you leave Kuwait.

So, in essence, if one is interested, he/she should make up their mind during step 2.

They have urgent need for faculty to start this semester which has already started in Sep. Potential Industrial Engr courses the candidate must be willing and able are:

Lean Operations Design
Supply Chains and Logistics Engineering
Engineering Economics and Project Costs
Production Planning and Control
Operations Research Stochastic Analysis
Operations Research Optimization
Quality, Reliability and Maintenance
System Simulation
Introduction to Control Systems
Ergonomic Work Analysis
Cognitive Ergonomics Work Analysis

You should not be surprised as more than half of Indian expat is non muslim and majority hindus in your so called mullah land.

They work there and speak nice but as soon as they are out of Mullah land into your bullah land they start back biting, speak ill of muslims and spread hate speeches like your own vandematram and mcg do here.

Folks, I posted this so someone interested can pursue by seeing it as an opportunity. I hope this does not degrade into another worthless anti-muslim immature tirade.

Kuwait or not, the Univ requires qualified individuals, qualifications that any well ranked University in US/Canada would require from its faculty.

Please stay focused. Thanks.

There are 2 ways of going to the gulf.
Go to Mumbai and buy times of India. within 2 weeks, you can go to the Gulf with atleast 2 times the salary that you get in Canada/ USA (except IT jobs) and that too tax free.
next ways is to apply from Canada. I did like that and I got 2 jobs.
One in India and one in Saudi. Both the times My cdn . passport came in the way. Libya refused to issue me a Visa since I was a canadian.
Second time, I got a job in Saudi but it took 6 months to process the visa and it was still going on and so I took up a superior Indian offer. Since I had an Indian degree, I had to get my Indian degree evaluated in India (2 months).
So in a way, (unless you are in IT), a Candian passport can be a hinderence.
So much for the Cdn. passport.
Peace

I think the one big negative for Canadians about getting a job in a tax free zone is that u have to pay the tax in canada, unless one is ready to severe ties to canada for tax purpose.

the salary thats on offer 1800KD seems to be equivalent to a post tax position for most managers in Canada.. but when u factor in the tax u would ove due to ur citizenship , i think it would be considered below par..

I think u should consider urself lucky not be in Libya

As far as Saudi goes, there is some government level issue going on between Saudi and canadian government which might be the real cause of the delay..

For most places including US, Europe and Australia , it will help u..
