If he was against violence he should have used the same standards for both parties-Not retaliating when the other guy is trying to kill you does not work-he used to go on a fast when Hindus retaliated to the genocide thus forcing Hindus to remain silent- he was very good in reading Quran in Hindu temples but he did not have the guts to read Hindu scriptures in a mosque bcos he was worried that he would be fleeced.
For me Gandhi has been given a disproportionate amount of credit for his role in the freedom struggle-we made him the father of the nation,we have his photo on currency notes and even his birthday is declared a holiday while the others who actually made huge sacrifices for the country were conveniently forgotten by the congress govt.Yesterday March 23 was Bhagat singhs death anniversary-not one newspaper,not one online media even mentioned it.

Does the Canadian Govt. want Indians who immigrate here to be like Ghandhi or Bagat Singh?
Can any country afford Bagat Singh?
We need more Ghandhi's in Canada and India.

Gandhi is Mahatma because, he left his life an open book, with so many people commenting "he did that , he did not do that" etc. No other leader's public life in the last century or in the current is subjected to so much scrutiny. Regarding personal life also, when anyone speaks of Gandhi, he does not hesitate to tarnish his character. For example, do we know anything about the personal life of another Gandhi a fake one called Indira Gandhi. Either we do not know or do not care. But M. K. Gandhi tried to set himself the highest standard, even for a high school boy or girl can study and evaluate.

Regarding his political desire that the Hindus and Muslims of the sub-continent should come and live together as one nation is right. India achieved the greatest glory under Akbar and Shah Jehan. The British, China, USA every one were afraid about India and thought it will be good if it was partitioned. We have also bought our own downfall.
Gandhi's earlier hunch about Adolf Hitler, even before the War started that he was evil, later proved to be correct. He did not fall for the dictum "enemy's enemy is your friend".

Supreme court of India has given 6 weeks to GOI and MMS to respond whether they consider Ram Setu a historical monument of India.
The petition was filed by S.Swamy in SCI.
