Canindo

10K in Canada? Its more than enough. I brought 10K last year and I double it within 24 hours. Once you land in Canada, take a cab from the airport and get off on first exit with a Big Casino sign on it. Just play a high stake poker and you will double your 10k in less than 45 minutes.
I have done that and doing prettyyyyyyyyyyy Ok since I landed. Everything is so cheap in Canada that 10k can last forever. Even if you go on spending spree still you wont be able to finish that kind of money in like next 7-8 years. And if you spend it wisely you will be bale to leave 3 or 4k for your kids before you die. It is not India, its Canada…a very little money means too much here. 10K, man! That’s like a fortune. Hail the Queen!

hey Shree65,

I am awaiting my visa & would most probably move to Canada by the end of this year.

In India, I have been in software sales for 14 years now selling licensed software of companies like Microsoft, Corel, Citrix, Symantec, Adobe, etc.

How much can one expect to earn in such a job? How difficult it is to get thro' in this job? Do I require to study for a sales/marketing management course once I get to Canada? Can you help me get a job in this field?

Is Toronto better for software sales field or Vancouver ? How about Calgary?

Thanks.

Are you coming alone ... i guess alone cos with family youwill need more than $10k,

One suggestion , till you get a job dont get into the business of buying furniture or renting an apartment on lease. Try to get into shared accomodation/furnished room rentals and look for a starting job. Once you have even a $10 job it will give you enough to cover your survival expenses and even you can save some bits of it.

If you rent an apartment , you will have to part with rent deposit , first months rent ...and will have to buy basic stuff to start a life in an empty apartment.

so it is always better to rent a furnished room/basement till you get a job. check the classifieds section in this site ...it will give you a good idea about the rental rates.

If you think of depending on your money then even 50K will be less coz you don't know how long it will take to get into job..1 year..2 year bla bla..

That way you will be relaxed coz you have backup up of your money, and at the end you might be left with no job...no money...

There are 1000 ways you can think..every body will think in their own way.
So my friend you come with whatever you have, if you have less money you will be very serious.

Cheers
Raj

Dear K.Raj,

Yes, you are right, its all about how an individual thinks for cost of living. If I get a chance, I would surely circulate my portfolio of so many things, which I have been maintaining in INDIA since few years and due to which I made soime money. This circulation would surely be very handy to live with the most necessity based living. Budgetting is very important in such great missions of life, rather after reading on CD, I became more deffensive about spending money in CANADA. Some will say if you don't spend after earning, what is life. "BUT THEN LETS RECOLLECT WE ARE COMING TO CANADA FOR ENHANCEMENTS NOT FOR LIFE...."...Initially you will have to make a comprehensive budget for every workable need. LIFE TO INDIA MAIN BHI THA...DON't we have great life in INDIA. We live with our loved ones, parents every body.....PAHELE DO SAAL CANADA MAIN JO FINANCIAL PANNING KE SATH NIKALEGA, WOH LONG TERM MAIN FAYDEMAND RAHEGA.

Hey I am pakka Gujju, but so many mixed community people are there, hence writting in ENGLISH & HINDI.

I think, I am making a point and one day I would justify this sensitive issue by circulate my excel based portfolio. AGAR WOH MERE GROUP MAIN POPULAR HUA TO CANADA MAIN BHI HOGA. It even covers, Kamvali bai's exp, dudhvale ka kharcha everything...

"BAKI TO KARM KARNA HAI FAL KI CHINTA NAHI KARNI HAI"

Rgds,

VJ
