PC accounts can be accessed via CIBC ATMs. So won't have any branch access limitation for regular transactions. BMO Sobeys is another alternative.

Only constraint I run into is when Drafts/Certified checks are needed.

I find banks like ING and PC Financial to be great for savings accounts - money you can stash away with (relatively) high interest rates. But I think one still needs an account at one of the Big 5 banks for other things, like Draft/Certified Cheques.
