I am 5 week pregnant and a new immigrants in Ontario,need ur suggestion about any place where i can go for free abortion as i m not covered with OHIP also.
plz help....

I have checked out at few places but they all hv a minimum fee 400$.

please do not kill the child....whatever may be the circumstances. Instead of abortion, why don't you seek help to enable you to give birth to your child. I'm sure there are plenty of such places in Ontario which will help you out.
Do not take the drastic step just for the sake of money or for the fear of expense. When you are in this province for 90 days you will get OHIP eligibility. You can go to a province like alberta where the coverage starts from day 1. Since you are early stages pregnant, things will turn out well because soon the coverage starts.
there are a lot of support groups who help people in this position. Contact United Way for example or similar organizations.
i know a friend whose wife gave birth within a month of their landing in canada and they did not have OHIP coverage. he took the help of support groups, local MPP etc and the charges were waived.

Abortion will create problem when you want to be pregnant again. It messes up your system. My own experience advises that.

The issue is touchy. But something is amiss about Question and responses. Since the question could be genuine and could be justified based on some circumstances but responses...? I mean the post never seeks advise on what should be the decision...the intent is clear...getting abortion and that too without having to pay (assuming it is financial situation). The appropriate response would have been an address/contact of such hospitals or the institute which can assist in such situation. If it is illegal then that needed to be pointed out.
Could be some Canadian healthcare professional surveying on desi attitudes towards abortion.
However if true, my apologies.
I am very suspicious of this post. The poster is terribly casual. This person could call telehealth if they wanted to know if free abortions are available. I don't think they are.
Most people in Canada do not want abortion to be a political issue, as the current legal status would be very difficult to change and our government has other ways to waste money, but some people that do want it to be a political issue might try to make it an immigrant issue. Many of us saw the values that were shared openly on a post about single motherhood, so someone wanting to start a "hot topic" could post this question.
To the original poster, if you are legit, contact Planned Parenthood of Toronto. They are not structured the same way as they are in the States and they won't provide a free abortion but they will provide free health care for any woman aged 29 or younger without a health care card. They could better direct you to services than anyone on the internet.
