I need some information on the area where Darry Guest house is? which region of toronto does it fall in? Is it a safe place to be? is there a certain time of the day, we should not be out like after 7:00 pm or so. I want to come and live there during my summer vacation
Darry guest house falls under York region @ Finch and 404 area. Yes it is safe place to be as like other places of toronto because of couple my friends live there. I live in brampton and donot know much about it. I have just taken info from google for you. I think these guys help new immigrants in settling earning money in providing them residence.

Darry Guest House at Finch and Hwy 404, OMG... just avoid that area, very unsafe. Almost every week there's a murder in that area. You have to be very careful when moving around. You cannot be out after 5pm

On a more serious note, they do not list their exact address on the site, but based on the map location, it's about half way between Hwy 404 and Victoria Park on Finch (or even may be off Finch).
The area is quite safe, having said that, Finch and Vic Park which is probably under a km away, is not the best area, That intersection does have some apt buildings which have had incidents in the past. I would say if you're planning on being out after about 11 pm or so, then you should be careful, only if you're taking public transit and are changing buses at Finch / Vic Park.
Keep in mind the closest convenience store will probably be at Finch / Vic Park

I believe you are confusing the Finch & Hwy 400 (Jane & Finch) area here, which is the troublesome area.
Finch & Hwy 404 is absolutely fine.

I've lived in the adjoining neighborhood for almost 7 years, and a little further for another 10 years. The low rise apts. at the South-West corner of Finch / Vic Park have had some stray incidents of shooting and homicides in the past, hence I said late at night, especially if you're changing buses at the intersection.
op, I'm not trying to scare you. The neighborhood of Darry Guest house is actually fine. For that matter stray incidents could happen anywhere in the city, but some areas are a little more prone than others
