How to get Letter of Reference from Current Employer

Hi,

I have been in Canada on a Work Visa since Sep, 2010. After Sep, 2012 i would be eligible to apply for PR under the Canadian Experience Class and had a few questions regarding that.

How do i get Letter of Reference from Current Employer? I do not want my employer to know that i am applying for PR, so can't request them to issue any letter. Probably even if i inform them, they will not provide any such reference letter. How does everyone else manage in such a scenario?

After December 2012, i am planning to return to india and start PR application. Does anyone know if processing time for PR under CEC category is faster in India?

I also wanted to know if anyone has hired a lawyer to take care of the paperwork? If yes, can you please recommend someone?

Appreciate any help in this matter !!!
