Desi's have you taken home equity to purchase another property for example a condo? suppose I have an equity of 100k I believe I can get 80% of that as equity loan..has anybody done that need more details..like costs involved etc. Is this a good idea to invest in 2nd property basically for renting or even resale?

there are 2 ways of looking at it.

if you took initial mortgage by putting in 25% then you can withdraw whatever you paid until now.

or

get your house reappraised and withdraw the excess amount less margin.

Good idea or not - it all depends on you. If anybody can say for sure the housing market will remain vibrant as it was then yes, BUT ????
