A couple of days ago I had a broccoli soup brought from Quiznos. It have had it 2-3 times before and always felt that salt was a bit on the edge, if they added a bit more it would become too salty. Decided to check the nutritional information online and it has a whopping 2460 mg sodium with 2 crackers, which more than the upper level of intake of sodium in a day!

I think most of the food outside is like that, you never know how much saturated and trans fat, salt, sugar, calories, they pack in until you make an effort to find out.

Salty taste should be coming from the preservatives.., More than direct intake of fat, the sodium / sugar combo causes more havoc to health.

Your best option is to stay away from outside food. Restaurants make food very rich in saturated fat, salt and sugar to make it tasty.
Brown bag Lunches are good.Recent stats say that we save close to $1000 per year and we also get to eat home made healthy food. You could also look into this http://www.consumercredit.com/brown-bag-calc.htm
