Last night we ordered a veggie lovers from pizza hut. Half of it was with pepparoni. I checked the receipt and it clearly showed veggie lovers. The pepparoni was under the cheese, hard to make out. This is not the first time. Last year we were at the pizza hut buffet and my daughter took a cheese slice. While cutting, she noticed pepparoni under the cheese cover. Before taking the slice, she asked the waitress if it was a cheese slice and the answer was yes.
Hope these are stray incidents. But I am going to stick to my favorite, thin crust, light on cheese from now on. Enough of pan pizza where there is peppparoni under cheese. I am puzzled why they put it under cheese?

Are you sure? If you have receipt which says 'veggie' and the pizza has pepperoni, take them to the cleaners.

Do not leave at that. Take a few pictures and save a piece. You could also take it back to the shop and ask them to taste it and confirm it with them. You could raise enough noise so that they will not do the mistake again. You might also end up with a few freebies from them. Just heard that a passenger of an airline has been given a letter of apology and also a free ticket for not allowing him to use the loo in a short flight. He had to pee in a bag as it was an emergency. He took up the matter and got justice.

Pizza Hut has a lot of money. May be you should sue them for few million dollars for offending your religious beliefs.
Oh by the way, how did you find the taste?
I called and spoke to the manager who apologized and sent a new veggie pizza. I sent back the one with pepparoni (half ot the pizza). I dont want to make a big issue out of this. After all, those who make the pizza in pizza hut are mainly teenagers, who are busy chatting or in their own world of girlfriends and boyfriends. From now on, I will stick to my thin crust easy on cheese. atleast I can see what's there.
BTW, none of us ate the pepparoni. So cant tell how it tasted.

It is clearly a lapse on part of Pizza Hut to pepperoni in a veggie pizza. I have seen pizza stores making half veggie and half pepperoni pizza and they would cut it and sell as slices.
I do not think they would be calling their veggie pizza as "suitable for vegetarians" or even calling it vegetarian unless they make the pizza in a totally separate facility separate from meat products and they would require to use "vegetarian cheese".
Even Knorr's vegetable soup (not made in India) sold in Food Basics, etc., had beef fat until a few months ago. I have not seen beef fat listed in new packets. Nowhere it says it is a vegetarian soup or it is suitable for vegetarians though it is a "mixed vegetable soup".

There was a choice. So you made a choice. When you are given a choice and it is not fulfilled, it is unacceptable. It is not about making a big deal. It is about letting them know they were wrong and that their "service" sucks. I gather you did that much an got an apology and a veggie pizza. Fair enough. But honestly, you shouldn't have to go to thin crusts because a franchise can't make their pizzas properly.
