Yesterday I had the privilage of going to a Desi restaurant in Waterloo. This is on the side of University of Waterloo and is in a food plaza mostly frequented by Desi students.
First of all the waitress was a Gora and I could see that there was a Gora boy in the kitchen.
We ordered Lamb Biriyani, Lamb Curry, The only soup in the menu and Chicken Tikka. We ordered medium spice (mild, medium, hot)
The Biriyani was Basmathi Rice mixed with a lamb curry. It was very hot, portion was small and not at all good. It was more like mixing rice with a very badly prepared lamb curry. The lamb pieces was like minced meat.
The soup was nothing but Sambar without any taste. We could not even drink it.
The Curry with rice was very hot and had no Indian taste.
The Chicken Tikka was chicken prepared with some wet spice and dyed Tikka color. Besided they had squeezed 2 or 3 lemons upon it which gave a horrible taste.
The bill came to 28$ and $30 with tips for 2 people.
We came out swearing that we will not visit that restaurant again even if some one gave us free food with $2 incentive to eat there.
My companion had to visit Tim hortons later to fill stocmach with Bagel and a Tim coffee.
PM me if you would like to know this restaurant to avoid it.

There is a nice Chinese restaurant in the same plaza that sells lunch for about 6 dollars on weekdays and I liked the food there

Just a request, Can you change heading as "Horrible Desi restaurant in Waterloo by GORA STAFF"

Basically you got bad/worst customer service in restaurent owned by Desi person but served by GORA

So how come Desi is responsible?

I found our Desi people always complained about kind of customer services offered by desi people/staff
While to my knowledge even this GORA is equally at same level

Arey TK boss, sounds like a good opportunity to open up a cool indian restaurant in Waterloo and make some moolah.

Just for clarification:
The restaurant has an Indian name plus the menu is fully Indian. I could not see any Desi managing it so it may be Gora owned or Desi owned. i am not sure.
I never said that the customer service was horrible. Only the food was horrible, small portioned and very costly.

There are a few Indian restaurants in KW region. I have visited many of them. Most of them are on the verge of bankruptcy.There are not many Indians here and they rely on mostly Gora's for their business. Besides since the clientile is low, prices are high and this in turn deters the middle class people (like me ) from visiting them often.
