Hi,

I been one year in Canada and enjoy the life here.
However, I don't understand why you can't find AUTHENTIC indian food.

I am from Mumbai and used to the vada pav, pav bhaji, grilled sandwich.
And enjoying punjabi food at hotels like Sahara Sagar, Landmark, Sapna.
Add to that chinese food from street side stalls, manchow soup, schezwan fried rice... i could go on.

I have been to restaurants in gerrad street, Mississauga and Brampton and its disappointing, what crap they serve in name of Indian food.
All the restaurants have same gravy and seems to jst change the veggies.

Can any one recommend some good places to get mumbai style food or I should forget abt it and get used to the bland food.

*The worst is when you ask the food to me made spicy and they throw in chopped raw green chilies.

The restaurants owner do as much as a food inspector will approve.
and keeping the food mild makes business sense else they will never find goras entering their place. The indian food taste is redefined in this part of the world, so accept it.

and in buffet or otherwise , keeping different mild and pecan varieties , is not so profitable, thus green chillies are served.
its about money ho!ney, and money cannot buy taste, not here . Mumbai food is an example, cheaper the tastier ! ek cutting or do pav and your day is made in few cents.

Hello Prism123....Welcome to the forum. So you knew about Jalsa...good. one of the intention to the response was to let you know about Jalsa if you were genuinly looking for answer..which you are....forget about the meaning of troll for now :), . You want the spicy food, go to Gurulaxmi, many indian-chinese joints in mississauga. I dunno where you moved from but if you step outside GTA, and travel to other countries except may be for India, you will not find better Indian food anywhere. So enjoy it! Just don't go to Lahorre Tikka..you will get real spicy food but you will not be sure of what the spices are made up of....
BTW What is the better way to spice up the food than having raw green chilli in it. I carry it in my pocket whenever I go to eat out at any Non-Indian, even to some Indian restaurant.
