The loss for the family is immeasurable and no amount of compensation and griveance would be able to console the loss they have suffered . ( That does not mean that we do not grieve )
Very sad to know about it and about the other such incident that happened some time back . Really there are changes needed in this part of the industry - I really do not see any reason why they cannot make it pre pay .
One thing comes to mind though - at gas pumps , are the attendants obligated to run after gas-and-dash guys ? As I see , they have quite secured cabins and esp at night with so many dubious characters around they should not be expected to come out even .

Fido.
R.I.P - Mr. Jayeshbhai Prajapati. I hope the family gets courage to live thru this phase.
Fido,
Absolutely right on the point. with the CCTV cameras and simple note of number plate would do the job. I guess the act was more impulsive. But no matter what, it indeed is very sad.
Feeling very sad for the family.
If anybody gets to know fund set up by family, please let us know. Will gladly donate.
Rest In Peace Mr. Jayeshbhai Prajapati
R.I.P to Mr. Jayesh and his family.
I wrote an email just now to the Toronto Star enquiring about a fund or if they'd be willing to set something up for the family - will post on the forum if I hear back.

Are you there?
There is the fact that for any non-paid for gas is illegally deducted from the salary of the attendant..... It had happened often with the victim and he had cowed to his wife that he would not let it happen..... He was simply protecting his paycheck.....
Indeed a very sad incident.... Appreciate the initiative for helping the family.... Will look out for the update for contribution....
