2012 for me brought extra 20 pounds , all accumulated at one place. ( Perhaps I took the end of world suggestion seriously and stopped working out). Never before in life I had seen myself with a paunch. I am growing a pot like structure though good hieght is only saving grace.
I desperatly want to reduce the fat, I know excessive eating is one reason, which I am trying to reduce. ( This summer onwards my parents joined us and mom is really a good cook !! )
Pls provide suggestions of reducing the tum. Can it be done without jogging/running ?
Any advise on this kind of a topic will be what you already know....
Eat early..... So keep a cut off around 3 hours before your bed-time..... Allow yourself the occasional dinners out or a weekend late dinner..... But try to stick to this over the weekdays..... That's it.....
Then, after a couple of weeks.... When your body is adjusted to this..... Make another small change..... Like reduce one chappati or have Kori roti or reduce one chai from your day.....Nothing too drastic ..... Or you tend to feel deprived....Pick something healthy and doable....
Like that.... Keep tweaking your lifestyle a bit each couple of weeks or so..... It takes time.... But you will see the difference.... Plus, you make a lifestyle change which will help you in the long run....
All the best....
Yes, it can be done without running / jogging. However, it will have to be another cardio activity. Elliptical / biking / spinning are recommended options - 30 minutes a day or so. if you start sweating and can maintain it for 30 minutes, you are on the right path.
Unfortunately there are no other shortcuts...at least nothing else has worked for me.

Stop LCBO visits. When you drink you eat Chakhna like full meal, then you eat your meal like you came from Rwanda, and on top of it you will feel like having dessert...and then paan..then oh man I feel so exhausted..then 10 hours of sleep and then hang over...oh I don't feel like doin nothin..you know the cycle goes on...
So stop LCBO (oops forgot about beer store/wine stores, etc) visits and invest 4 bottles worth of money on a treadmill. You will look like Heroin...
But Hey we have had a great summer this year so 20 pounds extra..umm will be gone in no time when you start shovelling this winter.
You will have to pay close attention to your diet. If I have to suggest one book, it will be "Eat to Live" by Dr. Fuhrman. It is available in public libraries, itunes, amazon, audible.com, etc.
