There is NO need to send in another application. Take a set of copies of the documents received, just for your reference, and send them all back with the EXACT amount requested, back to them - for processing.

You do not need a representative to do this task.

Your papers will get through with flying colours.

My two bits.

Thank You so much Full House ,

Appreciate your speedy response !! My in-laws were a little perturbed and talked to an Agent who is ready to charge them INR 12.5 K to send it through VFS - I agree we had sent it directly to CHC as there was no VFS center in their city / nearby cities .

My only doubt is - when the CHC sees the same application again , would they find a flaw in the Application as visit requested from 7th of May and the application is re received by them on the lets say 15th of May ......

I mean is this an apparent flaw - the application was originally filed 25th April .... for a visit start date of 7th of May .It was returned for inappropriate fees on the 9th of May .. Lets say if we send it back with the new draft for the exact amount , is it a concern that the date requested is from 7th of May - 10th October ...

I apologize for repeating the concern but just need some reassurance on this ....

The date requested for the 7th of May 2013, is a tentative date. When the visa is issued there is a requirement from what date to what date. This form was valid at the time of filling. If you feel that the dates have been postponed and will call for a new form to meet the next set of departure and return dates, as an itinerary, then you can support the application with a proper covering note to amend the dates. They say it is not mandatory. But when I see in the application it calls for a tentative date.

If the form was filled Electronically, these dates are mandatory, without which it will not be accepted by the other computer. It is not the case now.

So, please include a covering letter mentioning that the dates mentioned for the travels are only tentative and depends upon the availability of the tickets for the couple or the group, as the case may be.

These are not flaws, these are based upon the contingencies. Which means they were good contingent upon the receipt of the visas prior to that date.

You are now waiting for the Visa from them to decide on the next availability of the tickets. If you have an itinerary from the travel agent, please include with the covering letter.

Do use Speed Post or a Courier for the carrying of the documents.

Good Luck.

Thank You so very very much Full House Jee .

You have resolved all my doubts & worries .... with utmost clarity ... I am gratefully thankful to you ...

The same advise was also given by a friend 30 mins back so as to attach a covering note explaining the change in dates subject to receipt of Visa ... I am glad that it echoes your advice...

I am removing the URGENT from the title now ... :)
