The union govt is likely to bring an ordinance on seeking to reverse the Supreme Court decision to disqualify convicted MPs and MLAs. AAP chief is trying to meet the president to urge him not to sign the ordinance. Hope BJP is not supporting this act of shielding the criminals. It seems there are about 150 MPs who have criminal cases on them. Our slow system where it takes years to decide a case will help the criminals to contest elections and win.

The Ordinance got Union Cabinet’s approval to undo the Supreme Court’s decision to disqualified ‘serious convicted’ criminals (they are convicted and not accused). The first MP to get hit by this Supreme Court order is from Congress – Rashid Masood, who is declared criminal after 22 years of court proceedings. The second probable MP going to get hit is Laloo Prasad, who is going to get the verdict next week in 80’s fodder case. He is also supporting Congress so the govt. is in hurry to negate the Supreme Courts ruling through ordinance.

The stance of BJP is interesting. They are not talking at all on this issue. RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said that all political parties want criminals out of politics but Govt. priority is to save the criminals till the end. Let’s see if RSS asks their political counterpart - BJP to go against govt. move. It is highly doubt full as there are few tinted MPs are on their side too. It will be interesting if someone ask Modi about his stand on this issue.

I heard a funny comment sometime back that Govt. cannot bring a strong Lokpal Bill. They have their limitations. There is not much space in Tihar Jail to keep all those criminal MPs who will be convicted after getting the Lokpal. Someone else commented that there is way around by declaring the Parliament as an extension of Tihar Jail. Seems funny but quite serious if you think the way Indian democracy is heading towards.

The most disturbing fact is that the indian citizens are too busy in watching soap operas or working hard to meet both ends so that they have no time to think about such issues. Political parties are taking benefit of it and continue to rob wherever they can.

Just saw the news that Sushma Swaraj oppose the ordinance. At least, they have some courage to oppose it.

All it takes is a willing person to file a fake complain & a willing cop to register the complain. Any politician can gets convicted based on the the complain. (However in no way it means, that politicians don't do crime). Here I am precisely referring to false implication, with the sole objective to prevent a genuine person from fighting election..

Do you mean that a false complaint can get a politician convicted? Here we are talking about convict and not accused.

There was a time when Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned as Railway Minister due to a train accident, taking it as his moral duty. Now, after getting 20 years long court proceedings and court conviction, these shameless politicians still want to stick to their chairs. How low can they go in morality?

Do you sincerely believe that judiciary is not corrupt or partisan?

Ask someone who is familiar with law and he will tell you Altamash Kabir, SC judge violated all established norms to fix Modi. Then Abhishek Manu Singhvi , Kangress henchman asked a lady judge to perform oral sex on him in consideration of promoting her as High court judge. The latest instance is Coal scam. SC has on suo moto taken up so many issues. Here, CBI keeps asking more time saying that Govt. cannot trace the files. The fearless SC acts as poodle to save MMS. Then there are idiots like Katju who was a SC judge.

Whole issue has been escalated by AAP (typical left wing nuts) which has no stake in power.

There is no law which can fix the problem. Even if the law is brought to not allow convicted MPs to contest, they will make their wife/daughter/son/son in law to fight the election. Lalu managed to make idiot Rabri a CM!

AAP is a rogue party of black mailers who have taken up the issue.

In democracy, one gets the Govt that they deserve.

So long as people want corrupt and criminals to be their MP, nothing can be done.

AAP black mailers keep making demands. What about those who will never be convicted? For example, MMS/Sonia would never be convicted because they would structure transaction in a particular way. A. Raja went to jain while Chindu/MMS/Sonia are enjoying.

It is a ridiculous to bring morality through legislation. If such was the case, there would be no crime in the world .

Whatever you think about AAP, but this is the most honest and clean political party right now. They have posted all their donations online. Their all candidates are clean. Watch this recent video and you may sense the feelings of audiences.
