Hi
I appreciate CD for doing great services for the community and make many persons to know well about Canada.
I have completed B,com & DBM with 18+ years managerial experience in Business Development and also Warehouse Administration with computer Ms Office, Accounts basic knowledge, and also spoken French ,looking for the jobs in Canada like Retail Store Manager/Shopping Mall/Business Development Manager / Warehouse Administration/any related field.
Can you please guide me and hope to receive reply details at earliest as I have planned to visit Canada in May 2014.

What comes to my mind are the companies that have warehousing as their primary operations. They are very active and run a tight shop, day and night.
1) COSTCO
2) IKEA
3) WALMART and currently
4) TARGET.
Besides all of these, there are others such as FEDEX, PUROLATOR, CANPAR and CANADA POST. Then there are trucking companies who carry a lot of goods and have Parcel services that have jobs associated with logistics and billing.
Cross border grocery and building supply - shipping services are the next, such as LOBLAWS, LOWES, HOME DEPOT, HOME HARDWARE and RONA and some are operating all over Canada and a few in QUEBEC also, where French is spoken.
Talking about FRENCH, what comes to my mind is the statue of Gandhi and THE SANDY Beaches there in India and Puduchery, which rings a bell. Some one had posted an article here on CD and an UTUBE Video here with Indian Railway services to Pondy from Madras. It has been stopped now, I see. It provided a clear picture of the east coast and travels to South India. But the people there must be still continuing with the tradition of speaking French. Did you do your education in India with French Medium. Can you obtain a Diploma from Alliance Francaise.?
You have a lot of names in capitals mentioned above and if you have access to the Internet go to their websites and see if they are looking for employees with your qualifications and experience. Also, if you are nearing 45, obtainig a high score in the selection process will be difficult. But the knowledge of an additional language which is the second language here in Canada might mitigate that and will make you more desirable, if you wish to move into QUEBEC.
There is an NOC Category with a number 1521 and another with 1471 that might be well suited to your job search. Go through all of the tips provided to you here and then post to us your queries. Also explore the job markets while you are visiting Canada.

Dear Full House, Thanks for such an informative reply. How about a guy like me nearing 50, looking for survival jobs which offcourse should not be that laborious, willing to work long hours, do i stand a chnace in any of the supply chains and stores you have mentioned. Approximately how much shall I be able to earn per month, any other tips... Thanks

Hope u got a break in Canada. Would like to hear ur experience of job search. It might be useful to new immigrants.
