It takes around 3 to 4 weeks to reach the address you give to the Immigration officer at the time of landing. I was in your position when I landed last year i.e., in April 2003. I came back to Dubai after spending a week in Canada. PR cards have arrived to my friends address by post and he has in turn couriered them to me. There is no problem in travelling back in a week without receiving the PR cards.
