On a lighter note - Wonder when they started publishing Hindi jokes in Toronto Star .... C'mon you must be reading Indian stuff ... I still check The Hindu every day as much as I check CP24.

I mean I find it very hard to let go of my roots and I think it is natural for any one.

That's one reason we participate on Canadian Desi and the same reason why we have Bramptons & Markhams & Little Italies. It is natural for us and may not be for our next generations.

Absolutely! There's no question about that.

However, he DOES NOT have an iota of right to profess other people what they should or shouldn't do. If people are happy with being an hyphenated Americans, let them be, as long as they are a contributory and peace loving citizens of the country.

Edit: His statement is borderline offensive to the large number of not only Indians but the other 'hyphenated' Americans as well.

He is a politician, so it is his business at large what you should and should not do.
He is courting hissssss voters and woo them with this kind of agenda..

I guess speaking about economy, jobs, corruption, governance and other lefty agendas seem to be boring, ineffective and these kind of "Rice plate eating" doesn't appease voters any more, they want a real game like "Under taker play", "Taj Mahal creation"

My piece of sarcasm for the day..
Its 5 PM, time to shutdown CD website and get back to business :) :)

That's right. Was about to say this myself as well. Typical Republican. He's stuck so have to speak their language.

Hold on: We are 3 hours behind on the East Coast. Let's wait for 5 though :)
