At last the justice is served. Though its only five years, at least something is better than finding him not guilty. Hope the high court denies him the bail so that he can spend time with his friend Sanjay Dutt. At least other celebs will learn form this. It took 12 years for this. Hope he gets convicted in the blackbuck case and serve another 5 years more. All those "Being Human" s**t was just a drama trying to escape the law. He knew he was guilty, he was trying to act as he was something good. It should have been "Being Inhuman".
Overall, a good verdict. High time, the judiciary does its duty and serve the justice in lesser time than it normally takes.
As for the Black Buck case, I am of little agreement. Not sure, why there's no hue and cry for the plenty of stray animals (cows, dogs, pigs, etc.) that roam around the city roads while noone blinks an eye. Why rules only apply to the endangered animals? Society as well as the authorities need to ensure the animal rights are not subdued for one set of animals while being applied to another. Having said that, Salman Khan should be equally responsible for killing an animal deliberately.
I also heard Abhijeet's cringe worthy statements. This 'spent' singer needs to know that he can't resurrect his career with these nonsensical statements. At best, he should be thrown in with Khan.
At last justice served - better late than never.
If the verdict had come in 13 months we could call it "late". 13 years is more of "never" than late. And still likely that the guilty may go scot free. One thing we cannot understand was when Salman tried to distort the case by hiring his driver to own up the crime, does it not call for stiffer punishment and cancellation of bail?
Bollywood VIPs, who otherwise would belt out dialogues on patriotism, catch terrorists from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and roar like lions, mew like cats when it came to their own ilk. Not to blame them alone, it is the general trend in the country whether it is smuggling in the guise of fishermen, woodcutters or mowing down people on road, we want law to take a different route when the person involved is one of our tribe.

The main witness, who was with Salman Khan when the accident happened, has lost his job, health and died begging on the streets of Mumbai. Only his witness brought the star to the punishment and he lost everything.

In 2002, when the accident happened, if Salman pleaded guilty, he would have come out of jail in 6 months under prevailing law of negligent driving. He tried to be smart and prolonged the case. Later in 2006, the new law becomes effective under which the crime redefined as culpable homicide with jail term up to 10 years. There is a precedence of a 5 years punishment in another case so the judge ordered for 5 years. I think this judgment will deter the unruly drivers.

In General bollywood does have mafia link... and that has saved salman for long time... But at last justice happen.
Indian law is very strong in a way , when you get stuck in it you cant get out. Raja, sahara, salman, sanjay examples..
Hoping for current govt to reduce corruption so it will make law function more efficiently
