Social life in Canada

I have question for all of you, how's life over here? I mean is everyone happy? No doubt we all are here for different reasons and majority of us with kids are here for their bright future and of course money. But when Husband and Wife, both are working Full-Time, after work specially the wife has to do the household chores like cooking, spending some time with kids and stuff and at the end of the day both are tired and no time left to spend with each other. My point is, husband and wife are not having enough time to spend with each other and husband as a Man, thinks he has all the rights to go somewhere else for his needs because wife is always tired and she doesn't have any time for him? How much sense does it make and who's fault is it?
Social Life is what you make it. The quality is more important than quantity.
If you are outgoing and extrovert you can have a good social life anywhere , whether its India or Canada.

Schooling is easy in Canada. It is almost like the children go to school at 8 am and come home at 3:00 pm. There is very little home work and the children can do it themselves.
So if the husband and wife are working from 9 am to 5 pm, they come home at 6 pm and they are free. In India, husband and wife both work from 9 am to 5 pm, they come home, cook + they need to teach their children 2-3 hours a day and saturday is working day. Most of them are happy in India with all this headache.
In Canada, you have the whole of sat and sunday free to do other activities.
The only bad point in Canada is , will you ever get a job worthy of your profession / studies? You may not get a good job in a long time or you will work labour job and that is what will kill you. Your mind will kill you since you will be unemployed / underemployed.
However, it is a state of mind. There are millions of people in Canada, (Husband and wife doing under employed / labour jobs) and still are happy with a house, 2 cars. So if you feel confident that you can get a decent job in Canada (Husband earning atleast $ 18 an hour and wife earning $ 12 an hour), you will be in cloud 9. There are many husband and wife software engineers (each earning $ 80K annually) and who are very very happy in Canada. Also there are many punjabi husband and wife doing labour jobs (husband $ 18 an hour and wife $ 12-$15 an hour) and who are very happy, having 2 or 3 children, having both their side parents in Canada and having home and car.

And, there lies the problem. Maybe if the husband shares the chores, one would be less tired than the other and there would be more time to spend with each other.
Both spouses being employed full time is fairly common. However, there also needs to be sharing of household chores. After all, the family and the household belong to both the husband and the wife.

Schooling is not easy in Canada. U should teach children 2 hours at least when they are in elementary and 3-4 hours when they are in Middle school. Please do not be dependent on schools to do everything for ur children. Your children has to Google and do in-depth studies and become knowledgeable. This is what I discuss with their teachers and principal when I have meeting with them. Children from grade 3 should know how to write in-depth. Here, they teach addition and subtraction till grade 3 and then concentrate on word problem and then at the end of the grade 3 academic year, they teach multiplication, whereas in India, children in grade 2-3 know tables by heart upto 20 (multiplication and division becomes easier due to tables) but they are very poor at solving word problems.
If you just accept whatever is being taught in school and if parents don't contribute to their children learning, at home then your child will not excel and perhaps he will be dropout in high school too. Monitor their studies and check their work, communicate to teachers thro agenda. watch their test marks and if marks are progressive keep quiet, if marks are static or falling, go and discuss with teacher and tell teachers bluntly that if they are good and dedicated teachers then child should progress and get better marks each time in test. please check percentage coz u will find teachers are doing injustice in test by giving different grades for same test marks. Make them rectify their mistakes.
Saturday and Sunday's are not alwys free, some spouses work esp ladies work on Saturdays to save child care. In some families, one spouse work in the morning and other at night to save child ($100per day per child) which is very expensive affair. People who have weekends off, take their children to extra curricular activities like piano, soccer, basketball, ballet, etc but yes, Sunday is free and relaxing day for the whole family.
They deserve it too. This issue of not getting job in ur own field is everywhere, even in India. Engineers and IT are not getting job in their field so, they are into office job in case of girls and sales job in case of boys. Survival of the fittest. It is better than to sit idle and depressed right.

People who think they shifted to Canada for children are mostly unhappy and confused, people like me who shifted for themselves, and thought that the kid will gain in bargain, are happy and some of us are extremely happy because the jobs (read income) are as expected. All in all , Job is main driver of happiness here.
From family front , where husband wife do not get time for each other or are too tired to get cozy or not together on weekends. This can happen in India as well.

Whatever problem OP mentioned, that could happen anywhere. Atleast here you have more resources available.
If both are working in India it's same.
In India you have long working hours, you do spend 11-12 hours for work + commutation.
In Canada this is 9-10 hours.
In India you have domestic help available and they are very economical, here you have to manage most of the things on your own. You get domestic help here as well, but little bit expensive.
It comes down to money vs time.
