Hello,

If husband is on the study permit in Canada and wife arrives in Canada thru visitor visa from back-home, saying I would like to meet my husband and stay with him for somewhere 2 months, in this case what a wife can do to get an open work permit until husband stay in Canada after she arrive here?

Can CHC say that wife asked for a visitor visa for almost 2 months from back-home and after arriving in Canada she want to stay until husband stay for a year? Would this be a problem? And how exactly this open work-permit procedure work? I mean does wife need to show bank balance in Canada or husband for it?

Hi I came to Canada on a visitor visas to meet my husband studying Graphic Design. I applied for work permit and i got authorised to work legally, but you have to show a bank balance too. When my husband completed his study he opt for work permit and I was allowed to work too.

I came innitially for a 6 months visit visas but i worked legally for nearly 5 years in a large organization as American Express as Bilingual Associates and we got our landed paper last year and we live happily here. Also, does you or anybody on this board know what do the visa officer ask at the airport and at the immigration section when wife lands in Canada?

Also I've heard that wife can get work-permit on airport itself when she lands in Canada. Does anybody know how does that system work?
