Hi,
Can you do these type of job in India? and end of day you feel that you are professional? It is Canada and everybody is doing these type of job so nobody minds it. But after spending over 20 years, just for education and you have nothing to get is big Bullshit, tmp doing these type of stuff is OK but for whole life after spending 20 years of education is really sad.
PK:
Myself, If I could do it here..why could I not do it in India?
The situation is different though - Because I havent Immigrated to Canada I will view survival jobs differently. If one has come here based on their education and skills and then cannot find work its a big deal and sad for them as you said.
Going through Uni, I did entry level jobs and yes have cleaned toilets. So? Even today as I said if I lost my job, Id still have my knowledge, skills, and carry that with me through out my life.
All im trying to say is Be Proud - your job doesnt define you. YOU define You.

first of all, we cant compare the job scene in India and Canada.... the set ups are different... sweeping a floor in an Indian house is done differently than in an Canadian House.... the maintenance, population all speak for it self... India has lesser educated people, more in population using a "public toilet" where as educated or uneducated pupil in Canada wont be a quarter of the population using a public toilet in...(normally speaking) and treating it the same way as someone in India would.
then there's "looking down" on people who do such stuff in India... i remember I shook hands with my school's sweepress, when she shyly congrulated me for winning an award.... and I was considered an IDIOT to have done that by the teachers! (the "teachers" who are responsible in making a good individual out of us!)
a person can never be enough happy making millions while a person can be happy with making just a few bucks a day.... the idea of satisfaction lies in yourself..... no one can define it! But being employed as a taxi driver or a sweeper cannot be looked down on (none fo us can survive without them). Next someone would say being the owner of a company is "high" and people working under them are "looked upon" as they are mere salaried employees then what ? There's never a TOP. the higher u reach there's someone always ahead of you... but u're on the top of the ladder where your definition of satisfaction lies.... Money can stop flowing in and one day it might come from all corners! But satisfaction comes from your heart.

If you were happy you would not bother to immigrate.

We all were not earning the same amount of money in India but we were so happy there don't you think so...
You can do whatever you want till not creating trouble for others and legal as per the law. People donot care dam shit about you what you eat/what religion you follow/what money you make/what ever...whatever. That I like in US/Canada as compare to India.
For some people it does not work.
