Regarding parent sponsorship, received email from CIC stating to submit medical. I have few questions, please help me to get some answers

1) Parents are vising Canada and are going to be here until end of August 2016. So I can do medical here and submit it but if they call for passport submission before August then can I send Indian passport to India by mail to get it stamped? Or they have to be in India? (I can cross the US border and get entry as PR)

2) Their visa sticker expires in July but entry stamp is valid until September so is it safe to apply another visitor visa from New York (sticker) or get extension on existing visa. Technically they can stay until stamp expires regardless of sticker expiry. Just want to make sure if their status is still valid in Canada before PR approval

3) With sticker expired and entry stamp still valid, we have done multiple visits to US in previous years but this time, we crossed border 2 times last month and everytime during entry to Canada, officers said, no entry once sticker expires (they seems to be confused too). I went to immigration office at Niagara personally and asked them and they said the same thing. Is the rule changed?

4) How long does it take after medical submission for passport submit? (don't know why they didn't ask for police clearance)

Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Yes, you can get the Medicals done here or anywhere. That is feasible.

Life does not move as smoothly as people expect. So, expect a few unintentional delays and expect your dreaming apple cart to get upset by all of these events and call them the quirks of nature.

NO. PASSPORTS Cannot be sent through mail, back to India for stamping, when the Parents are Visiting Canada. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A VALID DOCUMENT for Identity and Landing here in Canada while they are with you, visiting here. Any violation will get into a lot of s**t. So, forget about it.

No one can say when their Visa Approval will take place and when it is that they will call for the Passports and also for an interview or a waiver at a later date. (Hence the Imaginary Apple Cart and getting upset by delays and disappointments.) Take things as they come.

You can surely apply for an extension of their visa with proper documentation. They might also approve the same. You can surely take a chance.

They are not confused about the stickers etc., They let it ride because your Parents have a return ticket and it will damage the most and they do not want it to happen. Imagine where that will put your Parents travels into! So, do not judge their leniency with their abilities to derail your Parents stay here in Canada. Because crossing the border into the United States is not considered as a break in the Visa Status. So, for Pete's sake do not doubt the powers that they can wield with their discretionary powers. It is like playing with fire.

Once again, they will take as long as they want and it could be just 11 months and 25 days with a few days for the mail to reach their HOME ADDRESS. Not the one here while they are visiting you. Please bear that in mind.

Anyone who is holding a valid Passport can normally generate a PC Certificate through their Embassies when they are visiting. This is just for your information. Also in these days of tight security, before a travel ticket gets issued for their journey, the process permits instantaneous checks. They are upto date in this matter. From here on please do not question about the powers these people possess., i.e., the Immigration Authorities, the Police, and the Security people all over the world. It is so enormous, I cannot put it on paper for you. AND Please do no test it also.

It will be a sad day in your life and you will wish that it never ever happened to anyone.

Hope this clears all of the cobwebs that you have in your system. (Kapish?)

If per chance everything falls in place, your Parents can just walk into any local Immigration offices and get their landing documents right under our noses. NO NEED to cross the border anymore. That process has been simplified for everyone. fh

Call CIC and check with them directly, they are there to help and not cause problem
