Having been in the employ of AMAZON, it will be unfair on my part to tell you about Alibaba and the products that could be re-sold after due diligence and preparing for retail. It was just a suggestion to see if these products have an easy entry or are they restricted there and if marketable in small quantities, is it worth a purchase and resale at your own end?

Here in Canada local mailing costs have escalated to a very high level. So, drop shipping is slightly expensive. If the costs are the same from your end, then the storage and rental portion of the overhead expenses can be minimized to a lower level and the margins increase. That is, if the products are to be sold in the North American Continent. If it to be sold locally, you got to know the comparative market prices that are there currently for any product and then do some market research and then plan your purchase, advertisement and then the sale of it.

Since your target is known, you will have to see if the products are suitable. Are the imports of such products allowed without any PERMITS. What are the tariffs. What is the demand for such a product. Is it a FOOTPATH item or a STORE Item for sale. Also, can you sell it over the net there, if so, do you have the technical know how to do the same.

Also there are many other products that you can investigate and explore. You are the Johnny on the spot and my input was just to trigger your sales instinct and see how you can take it to a Business Level.

Are my suggestions and word of encouragement sufficient enough for you to get started there in India? Would it provide you with a living wage? Can you derive an annual salary of 12 Lakhs for your self? What is the risk and reward that you have to face to reach a living wage?

Also you can get your own web site started. It takes time, but is sure worth looking into. The market there in India is HUGE and some time a product can take off very fast. So, think about it.
