Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone could give me insight regarding this issue.

So here it goes:

Two weeks back, I got a business card from the WNV/Grass, Compliance & Licensing Division from the City of Mississauga. I hadn't gotten a written notice or anything to cut my grass at this point in time, just got a business card attached to my door. Even though I didn't get a written notice, I still went ahead and got my grass cut and all the weeds removed as they were getting long TBH. 4 days after I cut my grass, I got a written notice in the mail regarding cutting my grass but my grass had already been cut by this point. Just today again, when I got home, there was another business card at my door from the same division (again just a card, no written notice). I tried calling them today but no one picked up. So I've sent them an email and am awaiting a reply.

I was just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and could explain this to me.

Are you sure it's from the City of Mississauga or just some private organization playing a fast one on you. Does it look like an authentic business card from a city officer?

How about the phone # on the the business card. In Toronto there are certain exchange numbers allocated to the city. So by looking at the number one can tell it's a number that belongs to the city.

Its a SCAM.

Don't call the number on the business card.

Call the City of Mississauga directly and ask them about the card, notice, & about the phone number on the back of the card, so you will know if its legit or not.

Called City and asked them and the guy said he dropped his card by mistake. Could not understand what actually happened. Thank you.
