Both Husband and wife move from Canada to US, Wife has some earning from the first 5 months in Canada, husband doesn't. I know wife and husband need to file the taxes in Canada , but do they need to declare the income in US too? while only husband is working in US and wife doesn't.
If yes do they have to pay taxes on both side (US/Canada). both are canadian citizens.
thanks

Regards,
I am in a similar situation where I am staying in HK and my wife will be staying in Canada. As I understand that that will lead to declare my global income which will become taxable in Canada too. From CCRA website I've seen that the taxation will be dependent on the joint tax treaty between countries, in this case Canada and China.
Can anyone of you kindly help me how do I know what that treaty says and how to calculate the tax in Canada based on the income in China?
Thanks.
